About Sidama Coffee

Sidama is one of Ethiopia's largest and most diverse coffee-growing regions, encompassing a vast area in southern Ethiopia. The region's size and varied microclimates contribute to the incredible diversity of flavor profiles found in Sidama coffees. These coffees are known for their complex and balanced character, offering a medium body that perfectly complements their bright acidity. The region's elevation ranges from 1,500 to 2,200 meters above sea level, providing ideal growing conditions for high-quality arabica coffee. Both washed and natural processing methods are employed, each contributing different characteristics to the final cup. Sidama coffees often exhibit a wide range of tasting notes, including citrus fruits, various berries, floral undertones, and chocolate notes. The region's coffee farmers utilize both traditional and modern processing techniques, ensuring that each lot maintains the distinctive Sidama character while expressing the unique terroir of its specific microregion.
